Introducing DJ HiPrayze’s Classic Albums

I started listening to music at a very young age. My earliest memory of falling in love with music, was listening to a song by Gladys Knight & The Pips entitled, I Heard It Through The Grapevine. I was introduced to great music by the adults in my life. My mother introduced me to artists, such as, Gloria Lynne, Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, and Shirley Caesar. My uncle introduced me to artists, such as, The Isley Brothers, War, The Rance Allen Group, and Patti LaBelle. My eldest brother introduced me to artists; such as, Stanley Clarke, Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah Band, Dee Dee Sharp Gamble, and Ramsey Lewis. My cousin introduced me to artists such as, Minnie Riperton, Christopher Cross, Phoebe Snow, and Ronnie Laws. Needless to say, I have been given an awesome education in Music Appreciation.

Out of all the genres of music that I have been introduced to, Gospel Music has been the most influential. At the age of five years, I heard my first Gospel Music recording — Shirley Caesar & The Caesar SingersStranger On The Road. The sound of this song was different from anything else I had ever heard and it left an everlasting impression on my life. As a matter of fact, Gospel Music was so influential that it planted the Seed of Salvation in my heart, which resulted in my giving my life to the Lord at the age of 19.

From time to time, I will be reviewing some of my favorite Gospel Music Albums. These awesome works of art have shaped the course of my life. The songs on the albums I will be featuring have helped me to grow in my Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am so grateful to the artists that have created these masterpieces. I cannot imagine life without this awesome heavenly music.
I hope you stay tuned to experience this great music that inspires and uplifts.
