#BlackLivesMatter Playlist

Recently, many people have been made aware of the phrase “Black Lives Matter” due to the world-wide public protests against police oppression and brutality. So many black people have lost their lives and freedom while doing things that are very human; such as, walking from the corner store and sitting in a parked car with friends.

It’s not enough to empathize with the families and communities that have experienced these senseless tragedies. It’s time for everyone to stand against injustice.

Throughout history, music has fueled the consciousness of movements. For example, during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, protestors echoed the sentiment of the cause by singing songs; such as, “I Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around” and “We Shall Overcome”.

DJ HiPrayze Radio is taking a stand by playing songs that speak to the #BlackLivesMatter Movement. Listed below are songs that have been included within the #BlackLivesMatter Playlist that will be played frequently to keep this in the forefront of the world collective consciousness.

Our prayer is that the #BlackLivesMatter Movement will change this world for our children, grandchildren, and generations-unborn.

When black lives matter, then all lives truly matter!!!

Remembering Sarah Gaines

RememberingSarahGaines

On January 17, 2019, Sarah Gaines, a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, transitioned into the presence of the Lord.

Sarah Gaines was a Gospel Music Pioneer as a member of the legendary duo Billy & Sarah Gaines.  Their music bridged the gap between the audiences of Contemporary Christian Music and Gospel Music.  People of many races and backgrounds attended their concerts.

Billy & Sarah Gaines released eight albums throughout the duration of their blessed career entitled Billy & Sarah Gaines, Come On Back, Friends Indeed, He’ll Find A Way, Love’s The Key, No One Loves Me Like You, Signature Songs: Billy & Sarah Gaines, and Through The Years.

Personally, I consider Billy & Sarah Gaines to be pioneers in the Progressive Gospel Music Movement of the 1980s, along with artists, such as, Babbie Mason, Larnelle Harris, Bebe & Cece Winans, Candi Staton, Helen Baylor, Vernessa Mitchell, and Phil & Brenda Nicholas.

As a solo artist, Sarah Gaines recorded and produced two projects entitled Sarah Gaines presents Miss Kitty and the Neighborhood Play Place and Sarah Gaines presents Miss Kitty and the Neighborhood Christmas Show, which are ground-breaking recordings in the Children’s Music genre.

Sarah Gaines and her music will always be a part of the Soundtrack of our lives.  God has used her angelic voice to uplift and encourage us.  Her music and memory will always remain in rotation on DJ HiPrayze Radio.

We miss you, Sarah Gaines!!!  We will never forget you!!!  We look forward to seeing you again when we arrive into the Glory of God face-to-face.
